NC App Due Date: Friday, March 17th
NC Winner Announcement: Friday, April 14th
NAAE Award App Deadline for State Winners: Monday, May 15th
As an agriculture teacher, we do not often take time reflect on our successes. Award applications are often seen as a burden and too time consuming. However, many award recipients will tell you that the professional growth from the award process makes it worth the effort.
It is time to begin award applications for NCATA and NAAE this year.
NAAE Awards are judged at the state, regional, and national levels. Award recipients gain experience, travel, and recognition.
You can find out about the requirements and descriptions for most award areas HERE. Please read this entire email for all application instructions. Please use the linked website to understand the application requirements, but DO NOT use the online system until you have been chosen as a state winner in that area.
All awards will first be judged at the State Level. For this level, you will submit applications directly to NCATA (not using the online system found at naee.org.) Read below for application instructions.
The following award areas are available:
ALL Award Applications are due to April Pittman, NCATA Executive Director, by Friday, March 17th at 5pm, via email to executivedirector@ncagteachers.org
Please use the attached Application Cover Sheet for the first page of the award application. The remainder of the application should follow the guidelines from the NAAE website found HERE.
All awards should be submitted to April Pittman in a pdf format for judging. NC nominees (state winners) will be notified by April 14th. These nominees will then submit their application via the NAAE website by May 15th.
Thank you,
April Pittman

UPDATED INFORMATION: Due to scheduling conflicts, this event has been changed to Tuesday, October 11th from 4-5PM. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please read below for updated information and links.
Our Member Services Committee has created a new event series for NCATA Members! Please join us for the first installment of the “Owls After Hours” session series. The goal of “Owls After Hours” is to provide support for NCATA Members in any year of experience. We are planning for three online sessions throughout the year to cover a variety of topics.
Our first session will be Tuesday, October 11th from 4pm-5pm. This online session will cover general curriculum questions, support for any beginning of the year issues, and ANS 1 PBM problem solving.
This first session will host a panel to help provide answers, along with our Ag. Ed. Curriculum Coordinator, Sherilee Deal. Please help us develop a session tailored to your needs by completing this Google Form: https://forms.gle/1mwM51PCvwLivJXA7
Please submit any questions that you may have about the school year or the ANS 1 PBMs.
Join our mailing list to receive the meeting link and code. Paid NCATA Members may attend.
Future sessions will be broken into two parts. The next session will be held on Thursday, December 15th from 4PM-5PM. General information about agriculture education and FFA events will be covered in the first portion. Then, breakout sessions will be provided in the second half, based on year’s of experience in teaching. This can provide newer teachers and more experienced teachers a chance to ask questions with their peers. We are excited to begin this new program for our members!
